Nora Daniel troublemaker

Growing up with an architect father and dancer mother, Nora Daniel has been immersed in art and design her entire life. She attended the North Carolina School of the Arts as a dance major and danced professionally for 11 years, first with the Bella Lewitzky Dance Company in Los Angeles, then with the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company and the Mark Morris Dance Group in New York.

After a long stint teaching and a shorter stint as choreographer and director of her own dance company, she met husband and map designer, Bruce Daniel, while serving on the grant review panel for the New Mexico Arts Division. Over the years Nora’s work has expanded into somatic therapy, design and writing. The Daniels have collaborated on many small projects. The Asheville Map is their biggest and most comprehensive project to date.
